Bajaj has launched its latest electric scooter, the Bajaj Chetak 2901, setting a new benchmark and posing a serious challenge to established players like Ola and TVS. The standout feature of this model is its impressive range of 200 km on a single charge, powered by a robust 2.88kWh IP67-rated waterproof lithium-ion battery pack. The company backs this durability with a 50,000 km warranty on the battery. Equipped with a 4.2kW BLDC hub motor, the Chetak 2901 reaches a top speed of 70 km/h and offers three riding modes: Normal, Fast, and Superfast.

Advanced Features and Design Elements

The Chetak 2901 is packed with advanced features that make it a compelling alternative to offerings from brands like Ola. It sports LED headlights, turn signals, and taillights, all complemented by DRLs for enhanced visibility. The digital instrument console includes Bluetooth connectivity, giving riders access to practical features like a low battery indicator, charging points, and a spacious 21-liter under-seat storage compartment. The LCD digital cluster provides essential information like speed, odometer, trip meter, and time. The scooter’s suspension system combines a single-sided leading link suspension at the front with an offset monoshock at the rear, delivering a 160 mm ground clearance for a smooth ride.

Competitive Pricing and Accessible Financing

To make the electric revolution accessible, Bajaj has priced the Chetak 2901 competitively at ₹98,000. Additionally, customers can secure the scooter with a minimum down payment of ₹11,000, with the remainder financed at a 9.7% interest rate, resulting in affordable monthly installments of ₹3,022. The model also includes tubeless tires for added safety and ease of maintenance, and it charges fully in about five hours, ensuring practicality for daily commuting.

A Strategic Move in Electric Mobility

This strategic launch underlines Bajaj’s commitment to sustainable mobility and presents a substantial challenge to existing electric scooter manufacturers in India. With its impressive range, feature-rich package, and affordable pricing, the Chetak 2901 is set to make a strong impact in the rapidly growing electric two-wheeler segment.
